Ventile werden in verschiedenen Ausf\u00fchrungen und mit unterschiedlichen Parametern in Druckleitungen verwendet und bieten viele Vorteile, wie z. B.: Beim \u00d6ffnen und Schlie\u00dfen gibt es zwischen der Dichtfl\u00e4che des Absperrventils und der Dichtfl\u00e4che des Ventilsitzes keine Gleitreibung. Die Reibung zwischen den beiden ist viel geringer als bei Schiebern und daher widerstandsf\u00e4higer gegen Verschlei\u00df und Abrieb. Die Konstruktion ist einfach, die Herstellung ist bequem und die Wartung ist bequem. Die \u00d6ffnungsh\u00f6he ist auch viel kleiner als bei Schiebern und bietet erhebliche Vorteile bei Anwendungen mit begrenzter Einbauh\u00f6he. Aufgrund der gro\u00dfen Kraft beim \u00d6ffnen und Schlie\u00dfen des Absperrventils ist jedoch der erforderliche Schub des Antriebsger\u00e4ts gro\u00df. Gleichzeitig ist die Konstruktion lang, das Ventil gro\u00df und die Herstellungskosten hoch. Daher ist die Anwendung des Absperrventils in allen Arten von Hochdruck- und Gro\u00dfrohrleitungen relativ gering.
