Este proceso de filtrado mec\u00e1nico es posible mediante un elemento filtrante compuesto de malla, metal perforado o un elemento filtrante de alambre en forma de cu\u00f1a. El tipo m\u00e1s com\u00fan de elemento tensor es una malla de alambre. Algunos tambi\u00e9n incluyen \u201cv\u00e1lvulas de purga que facilitan el proceso de limpieza en aplicaciones con mayor expulsi\u00f3n de suciedad. rentables en muchas aplicaciones. Cuando la cantidad de material a eliminar del flujo es relativamente peque\u00f1a, lo que resulta en largos intervalos entre limpiezas del filtro, el filtro se limpia manualmente cerrando la l\u00ednea y quitando la tapa del filtro. Para aplicaciones con mayor carga de suciedad, los filtros en Y pueden equiparse con una conexi\u00f3n de &quot;soplado&quot; que permite limpiar la malla sin retirarla del cuerpo del filtro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los filtros en Y se utilizan en una amplia variedad de aplicaciones de filtrado de l\u00edquidos para proteger los componentes del sistema de procesos posteriores en muchas industrias, incluidas: procesamiento qu\u00edmico, petr\u00f3leo, generaci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda y marina. Las aplicaciones de manejo de agua, donde se utilizan filtros en Y para proteger equipos que podr\u00edan da\u00f1arse u obstruirse con arena, grava u otros desechos no deseados, son muy comunes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si bien se utiliza a menudo en muchos tipos diferentes de aplicaciones de l\u00edquidos, un filtro en Y se considera el est\u00e1ndar para aplicaciones de vapor y se utiliza casi universalmente para estas aplicaciones. Su forma cil\u00edndrica compacta es muy resistente y puede soportar altas presiones. Es, literalmente, un recipiente a presi\u00f3n. Los filtros en Y que soportan presiones de hasta 6000 psi no son infrecuentes. Por supuesto, en estos casos, el dise\u00f1o del filtro es cr\u00edtico para que pueda aguantar estas altas presiones sin miedo a fallar. Cuando se manipula vapor a alta presi\u00f3n, surge otro factor que complica la situaci\u00f3n: la temperatura. Con presiones de vapor de 1500 psi o m\u00e1s, el acero al carbono est\u00e1ndar a veces no es adecuado porque la temperatura del vapor puede ser de 1000\u00b0 F o m\u00e1s. En estos casos, el cuerpo del filtro en Y generalmente est\u00e1 hecho de acero al cromo-molibdeno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adem\u00e1s del vapor, los filtros en Y se utilizan a menudo en aplicaciones de aire y gas natural. Tambi\u00e9n en este caso las presiones elevadas no son infrecuentes.
