Son objectif principal est de couper le d\u00e9bit, ce qui lui donne des noms alternatifs comme la vanne \u00ab de coupure \u00bb ou la vanne \u00ab de blocage \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Avantages du robinet-vanne<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Un flux de m\u00e9dias presque sans entrave peut \u00eatre assur\u00e9 lors de la mise sous tension. Parmi de nombreuses vannes g\u00e9n\u00e9rales, seul le robinet \u00e0 tournant sph\u00e9rique \u00e0 pores ouverts peut \u00e9galer le robinet-vanne en termes de capacit\u00e9 de d\u00e9bit. La conception sym\u00e9trique et le joint coordonn\u00e9 permettent au robinet-vanne de couper le d\u00e9bit dans les deux sens. Il peut \u00eatre fabriqu\u00e9 \u00e0 partir d&#039;une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de mat\u00e9riaux et peut \u00eatre transform\u00e9 en une collection diversifi\u00e9e, allant des robinets en laiton brillant de 1\/2 pouce courants trouv\u00e9s sur les \u00e9tag\u00e8res des quincailleries \u00e0 un robinet rare en alliage \u00e9lev\u00e9 trouv\u00e9 dans les installations des centrales nucl\u00e9aires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les robinets-vannes ne peuvent pas \u00eatre utilis\u00e9s en position partiellement ouverte ou utilis\u00e9s \u00e0 des fins de r\u00e9gulation en raison des dommages potentiels \u00e0 la surface d&#039;appui. Pourquoi ? La raison en est les rayures caus\u00e9es par le dispositif d&#039;arr\u00eat (le portail ou la cale) qui oscille entre les deux si\u00e8ges dans un \u00e9tat partiellement ouvert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aussi semblables que soient leur apparence ext\u00e9rieure, leur structure int\u00e9rieure est diff\u00e9rente les unes des autres. La plupart des vannes sont constitu\u00e9es d&#039;un corps, d&#039;un chapeau et d&#039;un dispositif d&#039;arr\u00eat (une vanne ou une cale). Le dispositif d&#039;arr\u00eat est connect\u00e9 \u00e0 la tige, qui s&#039;\u00e9tend \u00e0 travers le chapeau et atteint finalement le volant ou d&#039;autres op\u00e9rateurs de tige. Autour de la tige, le mat\u00e9riau de garniture sous pression dans le presse-\u00e9toupe supporte la pression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bien que les robinets-vannes puissent \u00eatre fabriqu\u00e9s \u00e0 partir de m\u00e9taux allant de l&#039;aluminium au zirconium dans le tableau p\u00e9riodique chimique et de vari\u00e9t\u00e9s de plastiques techniques, les plus courants sont l&#039;acier, le fer et le bronze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le bronze ou le laiton ont une excellente usinabilit\u00e9 au moindre co\u00fbt. En raison de sa faible r\u00e9sistance et duret\u00e9, le bonze est usinable mais convient uniquement aux applications \u00e0 basse pression. Les vannes en bronze sont principalement utilis\u00e9es dans les conduites d&#039;eau et les conduites de service avec des pressions de 300 PSI ou moins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La r\u00e9sistance de la valve en fer se situe entre celle du bronze et celle de l&#039;acier. Le fer est difficile \u00e0 manipuler, mais la fonte est relativement facile. Les vannes en fer sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement constitu\u00e9es de deux mat\u00e9riaux, la fonte grise et la fonte mall\u00e9able. Gate valves require very little space along the pipe axis and hardly restrict the flow of fluid when the gate is fully opened. The main advantage of a gate valve is the straight-through unobstructed passageway, which induces minimal pressure loss over the valve. The unobstructed bore of a gate valve also allows for a pig's passage in cleaning pipe procedures, unlike butterfly valves. However, gate valves are slower than quarter-turn valves and should only be used in the fully open or closed position, not to regulate the flow. Automated gate valves exist with either an electric or pneumatic actuator, but a manual gate valve is cost-effective since gate valves are typically used infrequently. Gate valves are also commonly referred to as sluice gate valves.\r\n\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:heading -->\r\n<h2>Where are Gate Valves Used?<\/h2>\r\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\nGate valves are often used when minimum pressure loss and a free bore are needed. When fully open, a typical gate valve has no obstruction in the flow path resulting in a very low-pressure loss, and this design makes it possible to use a pipe-cleaning pig. A gate valve is a multiturn valve meaning that the operation of the valve is done by means of a threaded stem. As the valve has to turn multiple times to go from the open to the closed position, the slow operation also prevents water hammer effects.\r\n\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:heading -->\r\n<h2>Advantages of Gate Valves<\/h2>\r\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:list -->\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>The gate valve is very simple in design, relatively cheap, and easy to maintain.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>There is almost no pressure drop across the valve when the valve is in the fully open position.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Replacement of the gate valve disc is usually not a difficult task.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Replacement of the seat rings is usually not a difficult task.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<!-- \/wp:list -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:heading -->\r\n<h2>Disadvantages of Gate Valves<\/h2>\r\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:list -->\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Gate valves are not well suited to throttling (any valve position between fully open and fully closed) as this creates turbulent flow and frictional losses. A valve left in the almost closed position will cause the flowing medium to flow at a very high velocity across the valve\u2019s seating surfaces, this can lead to damage to the surfaces (\u2018wire-drawing) and passing\/leaking of the valve.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Gate valves create turbulent flow when throttled and experience excessive vibration as a result. They are characterized as having either a rising or a non-rising stem, depending on which end of the stem is threaded. Rising stems are fixed to the gate and rise and lower together as the valve is operated, providing a visual indication of valve position. The actuator is attached to a nut that is rotated around the threaded stem to move it. Non rising stem valves are fixed to, and rotate with, the actuator, and are threaded into the gate. They may have a pointer threaded onto the stem to indicate valve position since the gate's motion is concealed inside the valve. Cast iron is brittle and this makes the bonnet prone to cracking. Special care should be taken when handling and maintaining valves with cast iron bonnets.\r\n\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\nAs the stem penetrates through the valve bonnet, it is necessary to install a sealing gland to prevent leakage from occurring through the gap between the stem and bonnet; sealing is usually achieved using the fibrous packing material.\r\n\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\nFlanges are installed on the suction and discharge side of the valve so that piping can be easily connected.\r\n\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:heading -->\r\n<h2>Gate Valve Types<\/h2>\r\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\nThe gate comes in various designs and technologies to produce effective sealing for differing applications.\r\n\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\nKnife gate valve\r\n\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\nA knife gate valve is used for thick fluids and dry bulk solids. The gate is only one piece of metal, which is typically pointed like a knife. These valves are self-cleaning as they pass the seat rings every time they open and close.\r\n\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} -->\r\n<h3>Wedge Gate Valve<\/h3>\r\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\nA wedge gate valve has a gate in the shape of a wedge that sits on two inclined seats. In addition to the primary force created by fluid pressure, a high wedging force on the seats created by the stem tightening assists with the sealing. The wedge-shaped gate does not stick to the seat in case of high fluid differential pressure and has an increased service life due to less \"rubbing\" on the seats. However, wedge-shaped gate valves have an additional compression load on the seats that may result in thermal binding and restricted valve opening due to expansion.\r\n\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} -->\r\n<h3>Parallel Slide Gate Valve<\/h3>\r\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\nA parallel slide gate valve has a flat gate and seats parallel to it. Parallel slide gate valves use line pressure and positioning to make a tight seal. Flat gates consist of two pieces and have a spring in the middle. The spring pushes the pieces towards the seats for enhanced sealing. Due to their inherent design, parallel gate valves have a safety advantage in higher-temperature applications. Furthermore, since there is no wedging action in parallel gates, closing torques are comparatively smaller, resulting in smaller, less expensive actuators or less manual effort. Due to their sliding into position, parallel gates keep dirt away from the seating surfaces.\r\n\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} -->\r\n<h3>Slab Gate Valve<\/h3>\r\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\nSlab gates, also called through-conduit gate valves, are one-unit gates that include a bore-size hole. The bore is in line with the two-seat rings in the open state. This alignment creates a smooth flow with minimal turbulence. This unique design allows for minimal pressure loss in the system and is perfect for the transportation of crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs). The valve seats remain clean. However, the disc cavity can capture foreign material. Therefore, the cavity typically has a built-in plug for maintenance purposes of draining the accumulated foreign material.\r\n\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} -->\r\n<h3>Parallel Expanding Gate Valve<\/h3>\r\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\nExpanding gate valves have two slab gates matched together that provide sealing through the mechanical expansion of the gate, as seen in Figure 5. When lifted, both of the slab gate's cavities allow the media to flow. The upward force on one slab and the stoppage of the second slab, by a step in the valve body, allows for outward mechanical expansion for a proper seal. When closed, the slab gates block the media flow, and the downward force (stem) on one slab and upward force (step in valve body) allows for outward mechanical expansion for a proper seal.\r\n\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\nThese valves provide an effective seal simultaneously for both upstream and downstream seats. This seal makes them ideal for applications like isolation valves in power plants, block valves in process systems, and high-temperature valves in refineries.\r\n\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:heading -->\r\n<h2>Metal seated vs Resilient Seated Gate Valves<\/h2>\r\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\nBefore the resilient seated gate valve was introduced to the market, gate valves with a metal seated wedge were widely used. The conical wedge design and angular sealing devices of a metal seated wedge require a depression in the valve bottom to ensure a tight closure. Herewith, sand and pebbles are embedded in the bore.
