Au repos, il peut \u00eatre normalement ouvert (NO) ou normalement ferm\u00e9 (NC). \u00c0 l&#039;\u00e9tat hors tension, une vanne normalement ouverte est ouverte et une vanne normalement ferm\u00e9e est ferm\u00e9e. Lorsque le courant traverse le sol\u00e9no\u00efde, la bobine est aliment\u00e9e et cr\u00e9e un champ magn\u00e9tique. Cela cr\u00e9e une attraction magn\u00e9tique avec le piston, le d\u00e9pla\u00e7ant et surmontant la force du ressort (D). Si la vanne est normalement ferm\u00e9e, le piston est soulev\u00e9 de sorte que le joint (F) ouvre l&#039;orifice et permet l&#039;\u00e9coulement du fluide \u00e0 travers la vanne. Par exemple, \u00e9tant donn\u00e9 que les \u00e9lectrovannes sont aliment\u00e9es par une pression naturelle et une force \u00e9lectromagn\u00e9tique, elles comportent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement moins de pi\u00e8ces mobiles que les autres vannes.
