De acordo com a API, uma v\u00e1lvula DBB \u00e9 uma \u201cv\u00e1lvula \u00fanica com duas superf\u00edcies de sede que, na posi\u00e7\u00e3o fechada, fornece uma veda\u00e7\u00e3o contra a press\u00e3o de ambas as extremidades da v\u00e1lvula, com um meio de ventilar\/sangrar a cavidade entre as superf\u00edcies de sede\u201d.
