Simply put, it\u2019s literally just welding a reinforced layer to a piece of metal. Generally, surface welding is done on metal surfaces that tend to wear down quicker. We\u2019re talking lawn mower blades, front-end loader buckets, snowmobile skags, or Julia Robert\u2019s toothbrush.\r\n\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\nHardfacing is a metalworking process where harder or tougher material is applied to a base metal. It is welded to the base material, and generally takes the form of specialized electrodes for arc welding or filler rod for oxyacetylene and gas tungsten arc welding (TIG) welding. Powder metal alloys are used in (PTA) also called powder plasma welding and thermal spray processes like high-velocity oxygen fuel coating (HVOF), plasma spray, spray, fuse, etc.SAW, FCAW, and MIG \/ MAG use continuously fed wire varying in diameter depending on the process and the current Strip cladding process uses strips from 50 mm wide to 125 mm with a thickness of 0.5mm. Open arc welding uses continuously fed tubular electrodes which may or may not contain flux.\r\n\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:heading -->\r\n<h2>Applications of Surfacing Weld<\/h2>\r\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\nIn various industrial fields surfacing weld is widely used.
