What is DVS Certificate?

The DVS – German Association for Welding and Allied Processes e. V. is a technical-scientific professional association active in all areas of joining technology. Besides welding, this also includes other joining processes, adhesive technologies, coating processes, and separation processes, each related to metallic or non-metallic materials and composites. DVS believes that its main task is to comprehensively promote joining technology.

The DVS works non-profit and maintains close contacts with institutions, and research institutes for business and politics. It has more than 19,000 members, a good 16,500 people, and almost 3,000 companies and institutions.

What certifications does the DVS standard have?

Geomembrane Welding

• Hot Wedge Welding
• Hot Air Welding
• Extrusion Welding

• Hot Plate Butt Welding
• Electrofusion Welding
• Socket Welding

Welding of PP, PE, and PVC plates

• Fast welding with hot air
• Pendulum welding with hot air

DVS star rating and Safe System

HGV operators must apply for a permit for their vehicles before traveling through the area. A permit will be granted if the vehicle meets the minimum DVS star rating.

If your vehicle does not meet the minimum DVS star rating, you will need to make your vehicle safer by fitting it with Safe System improvements, or you may receive a PCN.
