Electronic Ball Valve

What is an Electronic Ball Valve?

Typically used for ON/OFF control of water, air, oil, and other compatible media. ZECO electric ball valves use an electric actuator to open and close the valve. These valves are power-to-open and power-to-close. Valve positioner and fail close options are available. Several types of 2-way and 3-way electric ball valves are available in stainless steel, brass, and PVC.

Electronic Ball Valve Types Based on Material

  • Bronze Electronic Ball Valves
    • Designed for the automation of process control valves, these electric actuated ball valves help provide accurate alignment and can be wired in parallel. Bronze valves are generally harder than brass, and can resist corrosion and metal fatigue better than steel.
  • Stainless Steel Electronic Ball Valves
    • Designed to allow easy, in-line maintenance, these electric actuated ball valves can be wired in parallel and used for the automation of process control valves. Stainless steel valves are more malleable than carbon steel and are very resistant to rust and corrosion.
  • Plastic Electric Ball Valves
    • Lightweight and easy to install, these plastic electric actuated ball valves are designed for the automation of process control valves. Select from models with PVC, CPVC, and polypropylene construction. Plastic valves are resistant to corrosion.
  • Brass Electric Actuated Ball Valves
    • These electronically actuated ball valves help in the automation of process control valves. Each is designed to allow easy in-line maintenance and can be wired in parallel. Brass valves offer malleability and corrosion resistance, with added durability. They are stronger and harder than copper, yet more malleable than steel and iron, allowing them to resist cracking. They can withstand extremely high temperatures, and will not rust.

How does an Electronic Ball Valve work?

Electric ball valves use part-turn rotary electric actuators because the working angle of a ball valve is typically 90 degrees, and are very popular as electric actuated ball valves can offer a cost effective solution for valve automation. They are available in a wide range of materials, pressure classes and end connections.
