Fully Welded Ball Valve

Description

Fully welded ball valves are used at pipelines for their strength and low maintenance purpose and are preferred mostly for underground and aboveground applications.

What is a Fully Welded Ball Valve?

A fully welded valve is designed with a fully welded and forged body to reduce weight and increase strength while eliminating several potential leak points. They are used to connect and shut off the flow of the medium in many different pipeline systems. Fully welded ball valves are often considered the most common type of full weld valve found in many industries such as offshore petroleum, onshore petrochemical, urban heating & natural gas, shipbuilding, and power plants. The fully-welded ball valve adopts forged material, welded body, instead of bolts and nuts, to avoid any potential leakage from the body. Fully welded ball valve ensures sealing is much more reliable. The valves can be spherical and cylindrical type. Usually, the spherical type has only one welding seam on the body, and the cylindrical type has two welding seams on the body.

Structure of Fully Welded Ball Valve

The valve body of the ball valve is produced by welding six partially forged shells after assembly. The structure is compact and the whole ball valve is integrated. At present, the large-caliber ball valves used in production are mostly split three-piece structures, and each part is connected by bolts. Compared with the three-piece ball valve, under the same strength, the wall thickness of the fully welded ball valve forge piece can be made to be very thin, the valve weight can be reduced by a quarter, and the resistance to pipeline bending and extrusion is enhanced.

Product Range of Fully Welded Ball Valve

  • Body material: low-temperature carbon steel, carbon steel
  • Nominal diameter:2″~60″(DN50~DN1500)
  • Pressure range: Class150~2500(PN10~PN420)
  • End connection: RF, RTJ, BW
  • Working temperature:-46℃~+200℃
  • Operation: Wrench, worm gear, electric, pneumatic, gas over oil actuator, and electro-hydraulic actuator.

Features of Fully Welded Ball Valve

  • A variety of soft seal and hard seal seat materials to meet more process conditions
  • The valve meets the NACE standard, fugitive emission function, and fire test certification of API 607
  • The seat can be designed with double or single piston and has lower operating torque
  • Locking devices standard on lever-operated valves
  • All valves have self cavity pressure relief function to ensure the safety of the pressure in the middle chamber
  • For ball valves made of carbon steel, a layer of stainless steel is overlaid on the contact position between the seat ring and the valve body and the stuffing box, so as to prevent sticking and torque increase
  • PMSS special seat structure, two-layer seal, first soft seal, and second hard seal ensure better performance of the product
