What is a Cast Steel Globe Valve?

Cast steel globe valves are mainly used for occasions of high pressure and small size, the function is to connect or truncate piping medium.

Cast Steel Globe Valves are designed and manufactured to ensure leakage of less than 100 ppm (parts per million) of volatile organic compounds.

When open and close, twisting the stem around the shaft for linear motion; nearly no friction between sealing faces, and the open height is small (In theory, the height of the opening is 1 / 4 Seat Diameter), thus the total height of the valve is relatively small. The disadvantage is due to the structural reasons for the valve so that the flow resistance and torque of opening and closing is a little big, medium flow direction is required (usually low into higher). The application of pressure and temperature range is large of globe valve, but it is generally used for medium and small size pipe.

How does a Cast Steel Globe Valve work?

When the medium enters the valve body from below the disc, the resistance to be overcome by the operation force is the friction force between the stem and the packing and the thrust force produced by the pressure of the medium, so the valve stems diameter to be large, the valve stem bending will occur. Bodies of globe valves are designed considering the same characteristics as gate valves, which in this case means that disc is guided in bigger valve sizes or high pressure service in order to avoid vibrations and a better seat.

• The gland eyebolts of ZECO cast steel globe valve are mounted to swing aside to facilitate packing maintenance;
• The sealing face of ZECO cast steel globe valve is hard to wear and abrasion, good sealing performance, there was no relative sliding between Piston and seat sealing face when open and close, so the wear and abrasion is not serious, good sealing performance, long life.
• Well designed bodies minimising turbulence and flow losses;
• Backseating arrangement permits replacement of packing while the Valve is in full open position and it is available in two different discdesign ON/OFF type and Flow control type;
• To ensure trouble free performance, seating surfaces are accurately machined and perfectly lapped;
• Optional Locking Device or Stem Extension Pressure seal bonnet;
• Optional Direct Mounting to ISO 5211.
