Motorized Valve

What is a Motorized Valve?

A motorized valve is a valve type that use an electric motor to open or close its mechanism. This type of valve is ideally suited to very large valve types or remote fluid control applications such as aircraft deicing, agricultural irrigation, and automated fire suppression. Most valve types are suited for motorized applications with some commonly used types being gate, ball, and butterfly. The motorized valve is also well suited to remote flow control applications where system inputs involve incremental valve operation. The internal fluid control mechanisms of motorized valves are generally identical to their manual counterparts; valve actuation inputs are the only difference between the two.

How does a Motorized Valve work?

Motorized Valve is a power supply to drive the motor rotation, thus opening or closing the valve of a device, and withstand voltage shocks. The rotating range of the electric valve is adjustable. The rotating range can be adjusted by inputting the specified current and voltage signals.

Types of Motorized Valves

Quarter-Turn Motorized Valve:

Quarter-turn actuators are designed to automate the precise operation of valves that open and close through a rotary 90° motion (a quarter turn), such as ball valves, plug valves, choke valves, dump valves, and butterfly valves.

Quarter-Turn Electric Actuator Zeco Used:

  • Torque range is from 125Nm to 2000Nm (90ft-lbf to 1475ft-lbf)
  • Voltage Supply: 220Vac ~ 460Vac, 50Hz/60Hz, single or three phase.
  • Enclosure Protection: IP68, Double-seated structure.
  • Isolation: Class F, Class H (optional)
  • Optional Function:
  • Modulating I/O signal 4-20mA
  • Explosion Proof(ATEX,CUTR)
  • Fieldbus System: Modbus, Profibus, etc.

Multi-Turn Motorized Valve:

Multi -turn actuator is specially designed for all multi turn valve applications (linear motion valves), such as globe valve, gate valve, and etc.

Multi-Turn Electric Actuator Zeco Used:

  • Torque from 45Nm to 2500Nm (35ft-lbf to 1843ft-lbf).
  • Voltage Supply: 110Vac ~ 660Vac, 50Hz/60Hz, single or three phase.
  • Enclosure Protection: IP68, Double-seated structure.
  • Isolation : Class F, Class H (optional)
  • Output Speed: 18/21rpm ~ 144/173rpm,
  • Optional Function:
  • Modulating I/O signal 4 – 20mA (AVAM01 ~ AVAM06)
  • Explosion Proof(ATEX,SIL,CUTR)
  • Fieldbus System: Modbus, Profibus, etc.

Linear Motorized Valve:

Linear Actuators are employed for the actuation of linear valves like Control Valves or Diaphragm Valves.

Linear Electric Actuator Zeco Used:

  • Modulating thrust range is from (8.1KN-45.5KN)
  • Voltage Supply: 110Vac ~ 660Vac, 50Hz/60Hz, single or three phase.
  • Enclosure Protection: IP68, Double-seated structure.
  • Isolation: Class F, Class H (optional)
  • Output Speed: 18/21rpm ~ 96/115rpm,
  • Optional Function:
  • Explosion Proof(ATEX, CUTR)
  • Fieldbus System: Modbus, Profibus, etc.

Advantages of Motorized Valve

  • Controlling from control room/local panel.
  • Highly efficient for large valve.
  • To operate the valves located in remote or inaccessible area.

Applications Of Motorized Valve:

The driving force of the motorized valve is large, and it can control the large diameter valve, such as globe valve, gate valve, etc. , the utility model is especially suitable for large diameter pipelines or places where the flow of pipelines is required to be regulated.

Motorized valve is applicable to a wide range of media, water, oil, gas, steam, acid, alkali and other media can be applied. Driving force can control large-diameter valves, and motorized valves can adjust the flow of the pipeline, especially suitable for large-diameter pipeline or require the use of the pipeline flow regulation.

Motorized valve can also be programmed, the use of PLC remote control, so when the working environment is more harsh or remote circumstances, we recommend using motorized valve.
