Air Butterfly Valve – Air Actuated Butterfly Valve – Pneumatic Butterfly Valve Manufacturer

What is Air Actuated Valve?

An air-operated valve, also known as a pneumatic valve, is a type of power-operated pipe valve that uses air pressure to perform a function similar to a solenoid. As air pressure is increased, the compressed air starts to push against the piston or diaphragm walls which causes the valve to actuate. Whether the valve opens or closes depends on the application. These valves are used for many functions in pneumatic systems, but most often serve one of two functions. The first activates a part of the system when a specific pressure is reached. The second prevents damage by maintaining a constant pressure or flow rate inside a system or releasing pressure when it reaches excessive levels.

What is Air Actuated Butterfly Valve?

Air Actuated Butterfly Valve is composed of a pneumatic actuator and butterfly valve. The basic working principle of the pneumatic valve is that compressed air enters the pneumatic actuator to drive the piston, and then the rotating or lifting torsion shaft drives the stem. Pneumatic Butterfly Valve is a circular disc rotating with the stem as an opening and closing function, in order to achieve the opening action of the pneumatic valve, mainly for the use of a cut-off Valve, can also be designed to have the function of regulation or section valve and regulation At present, the use of butterfly valve in low pressure large and medium diameter pipeline is more and more.

Air actuated soft seated butterfly valve for on-off control of water and other media compatible with the materials of construction. Wafer-style valve sandwich mounts between standard ANSI /ASME B16.5 Class 150 flanges and other international standards. Double-acting actuators use an air pressure signal (80-120 PSI) to open and close the valve.

How does a Pneumatic Butterfly Valve work?

The “butterfly” is a disk connected to a rod. When the valve opens, the disk rotates to allow fluid to pass through. It closes when the rod rotates the disc by a quarter turn to a position perpendicular to the flow direction. Learn more about how butterfly valves work and when to use them for different applications.

Types of Air Butterfly Valve

Pneumatic Butterfly Valve is divided into Spring Return(Single Acting) Pneumatic Butterfly Valve and Double Acting Pneumatic Butterfly Valve.

Spring Return(single acting) pneumatic actuator is the spring-driven Piston structure, there are two principles: normally open(NO) and normally closed(NC), which means that: when air goes in, the valve closed(NO); when air goes in, the valve opened(NC).

Double Acting pneumatic valves need to be equipped with a 5-way 2-position solenoid valve to control the air going into the different entrances and then control the valve open and close. When driving the same valve body, the opening and closing speed of double acting is faster than the single acting.

Advantages of Pneumatic Butterfly Valve

The main advantages of the pneumatic actuator butterfly valve, are simple structure, small size, lightweight, and low cost, pneumatic butterfly valve this feature is particularly significant, installed in a high-altitude tunnel, through two-five-way solenoid valve control easy to operate, but also can adjust the flow medium.

Features Of Air Butterfly Valves:

  1. Small and light, easy to disassemble and repair, and can be installed in any location
  2. The utility model has the advantages of simple and compact structure, small operating Torque, and quick 90-turn opening
  3. Large size range for selection
