A large number of the valves and fittings shown within this catalog are frequently furnished in special materials to meet the requirements of specific applications. One of the most commonly requested “special” materials is Hastelloy C-276. While very few components are maintained in stock in special materials, a supply of Hastelloy C-276 is normally available.
The following should be observed when requesting items in Hastelloy C-276 or other special materials:Tubing collars and glands for High Pressure coned-andthreaded connections are “non-wetted” parts which do not normally come into contact with the fluid or gas. Thus these items are supplied in 316 stainless steel unless otherwise specified.
The inner sleeve connection of the Taper Seal is a “wetted” part and must be of the same material as the valve or fitting body. The Taper Seal gland is a “non-wetted” part and is supplied in 316 stainless steel unless otherwise requested.
Physical size of Hastelloy C-276 or other special material items may vary from the dimensions of standard items shown in this catalog, depending on availability of materials. (Parts normally supplied in hex shaped material are frequently supplied in round shaped material with wrench flats when manufacturing from special materials).
Packing material in all special material valves is Teflon unless otherwise specified.
Other materials in addition to Hastelloy C-276, valves and fittings can be furnished in Monel, Inconel, titanium and various other special materials.

What is Hastelloy Valve?
Hastelloy butterfly valves
The hastelloy butterfly valves are one of the types in the gate valves. The Hastelloy gate valves can vary in gate type and shape but they all control the flow with the gate. There are other functional types. For example, the hastelloy check valves ensures the unidirectional flow of liquids in highly sensitive applications. However, the cost of the material is very high and it is used only where it is absolutely necessary.
Hastelloy B covers a range of different highly corrosion-resistant alloys with the primary alloy metal being nickel. Hastelloy survives under high temperature services to severe service. It can handle hydrochloric acids at all concentrations and temperatures. Application selection should not be based on upgrading in areas where stainless steels are inadequate because the alloys are unsuitable for handling most oxidizing solutions where stainless steels are used.
HASTELLOY BALL VALVE

STANDARD DESIGN
The Hastelloy ball valve is ASME-BPE compliant. There is a cavity filled TFM1600™ seat option available. The valve has a drainable design with tube-ID dimensions. There are weld bosses for easy purge porting on ends and ISO 5211 mounting pad for easy actuation.
Encapsulated body seals facilitate welding without disassembly. End connections include Tri-Clamp® and extended tube O.D. The standard interior finish is 20Ra or better and the EtO ends are designed for orbital welding. The ball valve includes an exclusive “fine adjust” handle for precise positioning.
The high-performance Instrumentation Hastelloy C276 Valves have superior resistance to various acids. For instance, the Hastelloy C276 Ball Valves have the ability to resist acids like sulfuric, hydrochloric, hydrofluoric, nitric, and chromic acid. The Hastelloy Ball Valve even have good localized corrosion resistance.
Zeco valves provide tight shut-off when used under normal conditions and in accordance with the pressure/temperature chart. If these valves are used in a partially open (throttled) position seat life may be reduced.
Zeco valves have 1⁄4 turn operation closing in a clockwise direction. It is possible to see when the valve is open or closed by the position of the wrench handle. When the wrench is inline with the pipeline, the valve is open.

HASTELLOY ALLOY C276 Check and Gate Valves
Hastelloy Valves are made up of a nickel chromium molybdenum alloy that is stabilized with various other elements. The material is one of the most versatile materials used for the making of pipes, pipe fittings, flanges and valves. The Hastelloy C276 has 57% nickel, 16% chromium, 16% molybdenum and cobalt, iron, tungsten, manganese, vanadium, silicon, carbon and copper in varying quantities. The hastelloy ball valves therefore are virtually resistant to any type of corrosion. For this reason the valves are used in any industrial application with high corrosion risks. The material is also very strong and it can withstand high wear and tear. As a nickel alloy, the material is also ductile and can be formed.
